MY BELIEFS!

sparked by Larry Neitzert's HIS421 class discussion!

I do not believe that the government has any right to spy on me, state or federal, it is a violation of my human rights. I have the right to sleep, eat, talk, make love, do whatever I want within my own walls. Republicans want small government and they want the right to spy on people? The Democrats want big government and claim to want to make the economy better but want to spend billions of dollars on a pointless war!

I am so sick of hearing the Republican and the Democrat view in this country about every issue.

Why can't it just be our government as a whole that wants to solve problems? The economy, war, housing crisis, unemployment, etc. There are too many serious issues at hand right now to be playing sides. I hope they see this?

I am not sure what a liberal is? Maybe I should ask Mr. Neitzert? I do not consider myself a Democrat anymore because Mr. Neitzert was right all that label is is to get someone elected.
I guess my beliefs are radical, I would say 90% of people do not agree with my beliefs. Is it just the area I live in or what?

Or am I crazy? If I state my opinion on education in the U.S. race relations, religion, these are all forbidden topics. Why? Can we not as Americans debate and talk about our beliefs? Human rights means not being violated by the government. It means that I am not violated or oppressed by my government which represents me as an American!

Lets explore on of my radical crazy beliefs: Then you tell me your opinion on my opinion.

Inner cities: I believe that the government in the past marginalized African American people and made it so they could not move into suburbs: There were actually rules put in place so real estate agents did not have to sell houses in predominantly white neighborhoods to black families. This problem does not go away overnight! HELLO>>>>>> Things like that last. I am not saying people do not have the ability to advance in this country because they obviously do but when an entire race is pushed out of society in every way and then they have to automatically just know how to get around the racist red tape that the government and people have created. This is reality. I know its the past but if we understand this past then understand race relations in this country a little better. If I express this particular belief when in a debate I would say that 90% of people would say I am anti American and that blacks have plenty of opportunities and I am just being racist against white people!

HOW RIDICULOUS! They are just the facts. The fact that African Americans were brutally discriminated against because of their culture and color does not go away overnight. Generations carry hate....black or white...... families carry hate......cultures, and I think it is not gone. If we understand we can try to make it better. Yes we have an African American president: But think about the little boy or girl who lives in the city of Detroit Mi or Flint Mi whom are scared because there was a drive by yesterday or their uncle got murdered and see if they think they could be president someday......We can change their perceptions on life....as a whole American society we can think differently and with less discrimination maybe people will see that we all have a common bond as Americans!!

How I went from his class to this discussion I do not know!!
