MY BELIEFS!

sparked by Larry Neitzert's HIS421 class discussion!

I do not believe that the government has any right to spy on me, state or federal, it is a violation of my human rights. I have the right to sleep, eat, talk, make love, do whatever I want within my own walls. Republicans want small government and they want the right to spy on people? The Democrats want big government and claim to want to make the economy better but want to spend billions of dollars on a pointless war!

I am so sick of hearing the Republican and the Democrat view in this country about every issue.

Why can't it just be our government as a whole that wants to solve problems? The economy, war, housing crisis, unemployment, etc. There are too many serious issues at hand right now to be playing sides. I hope they see this?

I am not sure what a liberal is? Maybe I should ask Mr. Neitzert? I do not consider myself a Democrat anymore because Mr. Neitzert was right all that label is is to get someone elected.
I guess my beliefs are radical, I would say 90% of people do not agree with my beliefs. Is it just the area I live in or what?

Or am I crazy? If I state my opinion on education in the U.S. race relations, religion, these are all forbidden topics. Why? Can we not as Americans debate and talk about our beliefs? Human rights means not being violated by the government. It means that I am not violated or oppressed by my government which represents me as an American!

Lets explore on of my radical crazy beliefs: Then you tell me your opinion on my opinion.

Inner cities: I believe that the government in the past marginalized African American people and made it so they could not move into suburbs: There were actually rules put in place so real estate agents did not have to sell houses in predominantly white neighborhoods to black families. This problem does not go away overnight! HELLO>>>>>> Things like that last. I am not saying people do not have the ability to advance in this country because they obviously do but when an entire race is pushed out of society in every way and then they have to automatically just know how to get around the racist red tape that the government and people have created. This is reality. I know its the past but if we understand this past then understand race relations in this country a little better. If I express this particular belief when in a debate I would say that 90% of people would say I am anti American and that blacks have plenty of opportunities and I am just being racist against white people!

HOW RIDICULOUS! They are just the facts. The fact that African Americans were brutally discriminated against because of their culture and color does not go away overnight. Generations carry hate....black or white...... families carry hate......cultures, and I think it is not gone. If we understand we can try to make it better. Yes we have an African American president: But think about the little boy or girl who lives in the city of Detroit Mi or Flint Mi whom are scared because there was a drive by yesterday or their uncle got murdered and see if they think they could be president someday......We can change their perceptions on life....as a whole American society we can think differently and with less discrimination maybe people will see that we all have a common bond as Americans!!

How I went from his class to this discussion I do not know!!

Broken-Africa 9-24-10

A broken people
Destined to fulfill the destiny of the "white devil"
Emerging now as misunderstood
A broken people with a broken scattered culture
Noone can save them now
Exploitation and oppression
Take over the land and the suffering people
Exploitation even comes from within
It even seeps in via their own people.

A broken land
Used as a war ground for outside and inside forces
There is no way to successfully describe this
The land used to belong to the natives, even in the USA
and now it gets exploited
Used until it can be used no more, then cast away.
The people can no longer accept the land as their equal
Because the land is no longer theirs.

Africans have never tried to conquer other people
They have never traveled to distant seas
Or felt the use of their land as useful
The only way they are connected to the land anymore
Is to be its slave
They have never oppressed another whole culture and society
Other than the opes who have traded, enslaved, and burdened their own.

Now after colonialism, the land and people are at war
In a place where they never knew of God before
Now the people fight for those who are Christian
Or also those who are Muslim.

They have been converted to either one by a people who know nothing of Africa
They know nothing of their kind of struggle
There is post colonialism now
"Neo-colonialism"
A new term for a new era of leaders who were taught well, to well, by the white and Arab men before them.

Catch the knowledge of this ,
In your own empathetic consciousness
Praise knowledge for it is the only aspect of life that can be protected freely
People die for religion, ethnicity, and land wars,
And life goes on in Broken Africa
Missionaries doomed the broken with their good god fearing intent
How do I explain the word oppression:
I have never known the word.

Seperate the love from hate
It is all mixed up there
In the broken, currently unwavering continent
Hate drives oppression
And not knowing is fear as well
Just as Native Americans in North America were
Dutifully stripped of their heritage and culture.

Everyone knows this and yet no one understands, even I,
There is no solution to having to ring out wet sand
It is not possible
To ring out oil from water
Just as it is not possible to not see the evolution of Africa permeating into the world.

Note: This is not about every single country in Africe. Southern Sudan, Nigeria, Somalia, and many more are in wars fought everyday, over land, religion, and there are more reasons. I have become quite obsessed with the reasons for this. I want to know what the blatant deep reasons for "The white mans" supposed responsibility to assimilate the entire world to democracy and Christianity. Beyond the obvious reasons of money, power, capital, . There has to be a deeper core concept that I am not getting about how some of these countries are now in Africa. And as I sad it is not all of Africa, but I have seen too much and researched so much that the blood shed and oppression of the people of the above said countries is undeniable. And now it is not white people doing it, maybe white people are but more behind the scenes while providing aid at that, it African-Christians and African-Muslims. There are many good aspects of Africa this is just a writing, a poem I wrote while in deep thought, I have not meant to offend anyone.

untitled: 9-24-10 journey of life

Flowing waves
Green, blue, and yellow light
Slightly alters the domain of life

Oppression, fear, and the loathingness of hope
Steers society
People travel along the journey of life
And do not create based on new ideas
They create based on what the old have done.

We go and go
Yet do not adjust
We just build on the false hope of old ideas,
Giving the world new things with an old twist

Society does not fear the future
Nor believe in the hope I do
Of mankind being doomed for failure
Beyond the clouds and smoke.

Salt-Sep 23, 2010

I wait
You come
I see
You don't.

I know
You perceive
I want
You need.

Crashing thoughts
A crashing world
Is slowly
Becoming our world.

I succumb
You rot
I need
You want.

Gifted heart
A slave to art
Knows no boundaries
But his own.

The world keeps turning
Spinning
But soon

There will be no spinning
Only salt in the wound.

The laugh behind the hand.

The laugh behind the hand is the poetry behind my daughter. She explores words and expresses herself as a poet. Her laugh can be described in a word: poetic. That word embodies every emotion known to me and more.

a new day

we all must begin to rethink our places in this world

we all think the goings on of the world don't apply to us
we evolve within ourselves but not as people of the world

we must rethink

there is never enough money to go around
not enough land or natural resources

we must move forward

there is never enough power or pain
they go hand in hand

to guide ourselves through this the fundamentals have to change
the very existence of our beliefs now have to change
and we have to evolve as people and not have different beliefs but overhaul the current ones

never is there enough love, war, or genocide

there will always be more,
people are funny
some think that global warming is a myth
some think that they have no say in the way of the world
the only way to have a say is to see reality

not the sugar coated mess we have gotten ourselves into
people don't see
maybe it is choice
maybe the blindness is choice guided by doubt

or even guilt

no one sees the demise of the earth
pollution
disease
mass natural disasters
genocide and ethnic cleansing of entire cultures of people
the decay of the social norms society has created over time
we have changed so much as a people
yet have also went back wards in so many ways

backwards regarding acceptance
yes things have changed and acceptance is better than it has ever been before
yet the reverse side which is hatred, and unacceptance
those things have remained in different forms
we must evolve

we must wake up and reverse the damage we have done
there is scientific evidence of global warming
regarding if the world has already had radical climate change in the past
that means nothing
the things that are happening now are 99.99999 percent caused by human activity
human expansion
human development
human existence

we can not exist as humans without causing problems and then after it is almost too late we acknowledge the problems and then try to fix them.

I do have faith in the world but fundamental change is coming and it may come in the form of a revolution against all that we have ever been told is the NORM.

"A Credo for Support" 1995-Axis Cons. & Training Ltd.

Throughout history people with physical and mental disabilities have been abandoned at birth, banished from society, used as court jestors, drowned and burned during Nazi Germany, and still continue to be segregated, institutionalized, tortured in the name of behaviour management, abused, euthanized, and murdered. Now, for the first time, people with disabilities are taking their rightful place as fully contributing citizens, The danger is that we will respond with remediation and benevolence rather than equity and respect. And so we offer you:
A CREDO FOR SUPPORT
Do not see my disability as the problem,
Recognize that my disability is an attribute.

Do not see my disability as a deficit,
It is you who see me as deviant and helpless.

Do not try to fix me because I am not broken.
Support me. I can make my contribution to the community in my way.

Do not see me as your client. I am your fellow citizen.
See me as your neighbor. Remember, none of us can be self-sufficient.

Do not try to modify my behaviour.
Be still and listen. What you define as inappropriate may be my only attempt to communicate with you in the only way I can.

Do not try to change me, you have no right.
Help me learn, I want to know.

Do not hide your uncertainty behind professional distance.
Be a person who listens, and does not take my struggle away from me by trying.

Do not use theories and strategy on me.
Be with me. And when we struggle
with each other, let that give rise to self reflection.

Do not try to control me. I have a right to my power as a person.
What you call non-compliance or manipulation may
actually be the only way I can exert some control over my life.

Do not teach me to be obedient, submissive, and polite.
I need not feel entitled to say no if I am to protect myself.

Do not be charitable towards me.
The last thing the world needs is another Jerry Lewis,
Be my ally against those who exploit me for their own gratification.

Do not try to be my friend. I deserve more than that.
Get to know me we may become friends.

Do not help me, even if it does make you feel good.
Ask if I may need your help. let me show you how you can best assist me.

Do not admire me. A desire to live a full life does not warrant adoration.
Respect me, for respect presumes equity.

Do not tell, correct, and lead.
Listen, support, and follow.

Do not work on me.
Work with me.

SOLID

I am not going to waver from my beliefs,
Even though they are different from those around me,
I see the world as a racial, frictional place and things are given and taken on terms of race,
Others would call me fanatical, out of place,
I see the world as a place that gives and takes based on your class, social status, color, religion, that's just the way it is,
Why can't I just speak the reality I see,
It's not made up it's no joke,
I have these feelings and I will be strong,
I see the USA as a declining world power, There are drastic changes being made,
But we will never be where we were,
Who is to blame?
Greed, shame, there are many reasons to move forward yet retain the past in practice,
It is man/woman kind,
We are good yet we are evil,
We see the truth,
But we shield ourselves from it by all means,
I see this country as a country that needs its people to step it up and care a little more,
About the world,
There are drastic changes being made, everyday
The new administration is under scrutiny and pressure,
If you think it has nothing to do with race, then the reality has not set in that we need a change,
Racism has taken a new face,
I took care of an old woman,
She astounded me with her words,
She stated that "n******" were the downfall of Owosso MI: where I live,
I see racism everyday,
We are better, as a nation, but racism has just taken a new face,
President Obama will face opposition for many reasons,
You can bet one of those reasons is the deep down subconscious embedded feeling called racism that exists today.

I am not trying to be negative or be down and out about things I just feel its OK to reach in and take out the bad and examine it to the fullest potential. For those of you who do not agree with me or feel I am just a fanatical Liberal....leave your comments they would be greatly appreciated.
